- I seem to be having a strange problem. I am using win 95, winfax 7.0,
- and a USR sportster modem.
-
- I have been having trouble connecting to people that I was able to fax
- to when using winfax 4.0. Some of the places I fax to now work all
- the time and I get a full 9600 or 14,400 transmit speed.
-
- Some others, consistently connect, but then the speed scales down from
- 9600, 7200, 4800, to 2400, during training, and the fax fails.
-
- I'd say about 50% of my faxes go though and 50% do not.
-
- I've played with the compression and ecm settings, different drivers
- like the standard 14.4, and the other USR 14.4 drivers in win 95 to no
- avail. I even tried another sportster and it did the same thing.
-
- When I tried yet another Sportster, a 28.8, with the same settings in
- windows (no changes), some of the faxes that didn't get through, got
- through at about a 4800 baud rate - but not all. There are still
- locations where I cannot fax with either of the three modems.
-
- I recently upgraded the winfax 7.0 using the Delrina upgrade, but that
- did not help the problem either.
-
- Any info or suggestions would be appreciated.
